World debut for new Vauxhall Frontera!

Vauxhall has revealed the first images of its all-new Frontera, with the compact SUV poised to arrive later this year.

It’s a glorious rebirth for the Frontera name, with the original car having appeared way back in the early 90s before disappearing in the mid-2000s.

It’ll be available as both a fully-electric model and with a more traditional petrol mild-hybrid engine from launch.

And Vauxhall hopes this fresh Frontera will appeal to lease customers in need of a ‘bold and tough’ SUV that stands out from the crowd.

One of the Frontera’s main rivals will be the Jeep Avenger, which is also up for grabs with both an EV powertrain and regular petrol engine. The Frontera will also have to do battle with uber-popular crossovers like the Ford Puma and Nissan Juke, as well as the new Ford Explorer EV.

There’s no word on precise powertrain stats, so we’ll bring you that in due course. But the electric Frontera is likely to share the same underpinnings with another car in parent company Stellantis’ stable - the incoming Citroen e-C3.

The e-C3 boasts a 44kWh battery and, with the Frontera, the smart money is on an electric range of around 250 miles - just like the Jeep Avenger EV.

The Frontera, which is likely to replace the Crossland in Vauxhall’s line-up, gets the manufacturer’s trademark ‘Vizor’ front end with Eco LED headlamps fitted with automatic high beam.

Vauxhall says the Frontera’s cabin is all about ‘connectivity and comfort’.

There’s a digital ‘Pure Panel’ cockpit with two 10-inch displays and plush seats to ease the pressure on your tailbone, while there’s a ‘clean, detoxed’ feel to the interior designed to help drivers stress less.

Wireless phone charging looks to be standard-fit while there are two USB ports in the front and two in the back alongside integrated smartphone pockets in the backrests of the front seats.

With 460 litres of luggage space, the Frontera is on a par with the new Ford Explorer when it comes to luggage capacity, and it’s way up on the Avenger’s 380 litres.

James Taylor, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “With its combination of rugged design, spaciousness, clever solutions and efficient powertrains, our new Vauxhall Frontera will appeal to a wide range of customers who want to stand out from the crowd. It is ideally suited to the urban and sub-urban environment with a fully electric version available from launch.”

I could not recommend Select enough and the amazing service I had from my consultant Shane Newton. Shane regularly updated me on progress of my new vehicle, and was always so helpful in answering any queries I had regarding my order throughout the whole process - no question was silly - he always responded promptly whether that be through email or phone call. I just received my new vehicle last week, and Shane was in contact right away to ensure the handover was seamless and that I was happy with my new vehicle! Needless to say I was very happy with the earlier than anticipated delivery - Christmas has came early! This is my second vehicle with Select and yet another excellent service. I could not fault anything and want to thank Shane once again for all of his help!
