Tesla reveals new Model 3!

Here’s big news in the world of electric vehicles - because Tesla has given a major facelift to its all-conquering Model 3.

The Model 3 first arrived in the UK back in 2019, and in the four years since it has become THE most sought-after EV going.

Marrying a futuristic cabin with state-of-the-art tech and a market leading range between charges, it’s not hard to see why the Tesla Model 3 has been such a winner.

Now Tesla has made its battery-powered trailblazer even more desirable, with a raft of upgrades designed to boost its style, comfort, and practicality.

So, what’s new?

Firstly, the front end has been overhauled to be sleeker, with sharp new headlights and a revised front bumper. There’s also fresh C-shaped lights at the rear.

It’s not a major departure from the original design, but it’s enough to keep the Tesla Model 3 alive and moving with the times.

The changes, along with new aero-optimised wheels, also improve the car’s drag resistance - which means the Model 3 will now go further than ever on a single charge.

The current ‘Long Range’ version of the Tesla Model 3 can travel up to 374 miles, but the new incarnation will journey for 391 miles until you need to stop and find a plug.

The entry-level, rear-wheel drive Model 3 also gets a hike in range - up to 319 miles from the previous 305 miles.

Whichever Model 3 you choose, it’ll be no slouch. The new rear-wheel drive Model 3 will sprint from 0-62 mph in 6.1 seconds, while the Long Range incarnation will take 4.4 seconds to achieve the same feat.

Precise pace details for the ballistic ‘Performance’ Model 3 are yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile the cabin has been revamped, too.

There’s a liberal use of aluminium and better textiles that lead to ‘elevated levels of execution’, according to Tesla. Build quality should therefore be improved.

There’s more stowage, a wireless charging bed that’ll accommodate two phones, and while the touchscreen remains the same size - at 15.4-inches - a thinner bezel creates more space.

The interior should be a serene place to be, with laminated acoustic glass all-round, not just at the front, as well as plusher suspension. There’s even an 8-inch rear screen which mimics all of the functions of the infotainment screen in the front.

One potentially controversial move is that Tesla has changed the indicator function from being traditional levers to being buttons on the steering wheel. Windscreen wipers are also now activated via a button on the steering wheel. That might take some getting used to.

An uprated sound system in the Long Range Model 3 now has 17 speakers, rather than 14.

Meanwhile sophisticated heated and ventilated seats are complimented by a system that can detect how warm or cold you are and adjust the air conditioning accordingly. Very clever stuff indeed.

The first of the new wave of Tesla Model 3s are due to arrive in the UK next year. We’ll bring you news on lease pricing as and when we get it.

And in the meantime, you can lease the current Tesla Model 3 with Select Car Leasing from £442 per month*.
