If you’re looking for an alternative to cars like the Kia Sorento, Volvo XC60 or the Range Rover Velar, a new flagship SUV from SsangYong could well appeal.
The ‘Ultimate Plus’ is the new range-topping variant of the award-winning Rexton SUV, and has taken its place at the very top of the SsangYong pile.
With prices starting at £44,995, it’s a vehicle that is very much appealing to the higher end of the market when it comes to big, luxurious load-luggers.
One of the Rexton’s big trump cards is that it’s a seven-seater as standard, in the same vein as the more expensive Land Rover Discovery or BMW X7.
The Rexton has also been well-received by critics, with the SUV having won the ‘4x4 of the Year 2022’ prize from 4x4 magazine. It’s a popular choice for caravanners, too, thanks to its 3.5 tonne towing capacity.
The Ultimate Plus trim level enjoys 20 inch alloys, powered sunroof and metallic paint.
The cabin also gets premium quilted nappa leather and suede seats, as well as a 360 degree camera, third-row air conditioning, wireless phone charging, and rear passenger door sunblinds.
And all Rextons come with a suite of driver assistance and safety systems, including autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning and rear cross traffic warning.
The Rexton Ultimate Plus is powered by a 2.2 litre diesel engine with power of 202 PS.
