Now this is proper glamping - Skoda has turned its electric Enyaq iV into a full-on summer festival vehicle.
The Enyaq iV 80 ‘FestEVal’ features a luxury roof tent and a pull-out kitchen platform complete with gas stove and a sink.
And because you can sleep in both the back of the car and up high on the roof, there’s space for up to four people.
What’s the snag? Well, the downside is that Skoda isn’t actually selling the FestEVal. It’s a one-off project designed to show-off what the Enyaq iv is capable of.
Skoda turned to Czech conversion specialists EGOE to create the FestEVal.
But there are plenty of similar outfits here in the UK, and this prototype might just get your own creative juices flowing.
The roof tent on the FestEVal is accessed via a ladder that is stored inside the tent box when the lid is shut. There’s also a solar-powered fan in there for those really sunny days.
Meanwhile the EGOE box at the back is a clever bit of kit indeed, slotting straight into the Enyaq iV’s 585 litre boot.
Because it pulls out, you can still make use of the rear seats of the Enyaq iV when you’re on the move, and when parked up at the campsite, the box provides one of the two sleeping areas.
Skoda says:
“The double bed frame can be put together in minutes, extending across the folded rear seats. The mattress cushions store on top of the box and provide comfortable in-car accommodation for two.”
That box also features an integrated gas cooker, collapsible sink with tap and hose, a preparation area, and lots of storage.
And, of course, the award-winning Enyaq iV is also the perfect companion for a road trip.
There’s a range of up to 338 miles between charges while the The 82kWh battery pack of the ENYAQ iV 80 can be charged at speeds of up to 135kW, with 80 per cent charge possible in under 30 minutes.
