A girls football team from Berkshire is proudly sporting new training kit - after a generous donation from Select Car Leasing.
Barton Rovers FC, headquartered in Tilehurst, is one of the largest youth football clubs in Reading with around 400 registered players.
There are 23 different teams, from Under 7s right through to the senior sides.
And now a group of female players at Barton Rovers, aged between 8 and 10, have been handed training shirts, hoodies and rain jackets following a £300 sponsorship by Select Car Leasing, which helped to cover the costs.
Select is one of the UK's largest independent specialists for car and van leasing. While the Select HQ is in Reading, Berks, there are offices across the UK.
David Rosier, Barton Rovers FC Kit Administrator, said:
“We’re passionate about grassroots football here at Barton Rovers FC.
“Although we have had female teams in the past competing at both youth and adult levels, we are starting afresh this year, once again offering dedicated coaching to girls.
“The money from Select Car Leasing has helped to provide training kits for the girls - and to also give them a sense of identity and connection to their male counterparts.
“Ultimately, it’s about helping the girls to develop so that they go on to form a team and join a competitive league.
“And as with all of the teams at Barton, the emphasis here is on playing and enjoyment. We don't actively seek the best-of-the-best to create a powerhouse, instead we include all abilities and encourage playing and enjoyment of the game.
“You do often see some success, but for us it's about building friendship, forging team spirit and the youngsters having a smile on their faces.
“On behalf of everyone at Barton Rovers Football Club, and the girls, we thank Select Car Leasing for its support.”
Select Car Leasing - the Principal Partner of Championship side Reading F.C - has a long history supporting youth football.
Last year it donated dozens of items of free kit to grassroots sides across the Thames Valley region.
Select also pledged more than £4,000 to provide young children with healthy meals during school holidays, working in partnership with Reading F.C Community Trust.

Barton Rovers FC was formed in 1982 by a group of parents whose children wanted to play football, but didn’t have the opportunity to do so locally.
The club takes its name from nearby Barton Road, where some of the founding parents lived.
