- Polestar 2 model year 2026 update
- Upgraded processor chip for infotainment system
- Bowers & Wilkins sound system
- Standard range Single motor can travel up to 344 miles
The Polestar 2 has been treated to a subtle refresh that brings better tech, a swankier sound system, and a new exterior colour.
The ‘2’ sits in Polestar’s range behind the larger Polestar 4 and Polestar 3 SUVs and has long been a rival to the Tesla Model 3.
Now Polestar hopes the introduction of a 2026 model year will make the 2 even more appealing.
The updates include an upgraded processor chip, improving the performance of the car’s infotainment system, while a new top-tier sound system from Bowers & Wilkins is available as an option.
That chip in question is a ‘Qualcomm Snapdragon’ affair that improves download speeds for in-car apps and provides faster reaction times and smoother performance within the infotainment system.
The Bowers & Wilkins audio is offered as an additional upgrade and consists of 14 speakers, ‘Tweeter-on-Top’ technology for improved clarity and accuracy, and Continuum midrange speakers that minimise distortion.
It’s as you were for the exterior of the Polestar 2, but there is a new colour - a sandy ‘Dune’ hue (below) which replaces the ‘Jupiter’ colour scheme - and new five-spoke 20-inch alloys (part of the optional Performance Pack).
You can also get MicroTech upholstery in Charcoal with distinctive quilting design and Black Ash deco is available with the optional Plus Pack.
Michael Lohscheller, Polestar CEO, says: “Polestar 2 is the cornerstone our business was built on. Seeing our first EV continue to receive numerous enhancements with every model year introduction is truly amazing. Now with a comprehensive round of technology, design, and option updates, including the outstanding Bowers & Wilkins audio system and faster processor chip, I’m convinced our customers will love the experience Polestar 2 offers even more.”
The EV range for the Polestar 2 remains impressive, with entry-level Standard Range Single Motor (70 kWh battery) able to journey up to 344 miles between charges while the Long Range Single Motor variants (82 kWh battery) ups the range to a 406-mile max.
