A new electric family car has accelerated into view - so please welcome the new Peugeot E-308 to the leasing market.
Peugeot first unveiled the E-308 early last year, billing it as the firm’s first ever ‘all-electric C-segment vehicle’.
And now, after a lengthy wait, order books are finally open. You can lease the Peugeot E-308 with Select Car Leasing from £451 per month*.
A battery-powered version of the regular petrol and diesel-powered Peugeot 308, the E-308 will be available as both a hatchback and estate.
The good news here is that Peugeot has updated its range figures to show that the E-308 can actually go further on a single charge than it first thought when the car was initially announced in 2022.
A 54kWh battery means a healthy power output is 156 bhp and a range of up to 257 miles between charges. That’s 9 miles more than the 248-mile figure first quoted. Those nine miles might not sound like much, but it’s the equivalent of a stress-free school run without having to think about finding a charger.
A heat pump is included as standard with the Peugeot E-308 for greater efficiency and comfort.
With your typical 7.4 kW home wall box, a full charge will take around 5 hours 45 minutes, while using a 100k W charger will boost the energy in the battery from 20-80% in 28 minutes.
The styling is unmistakable Peugeot, complete with an eye-catching front grille, fang-shaped daytime running lights, and a three-claw light signature at the rear.
Inside the cabin you’ll find a 10-inch central touchscreen, heated front seats and heated steering wheel, all as standard, while massage seats are available as an option.
There are three trims to choose - Allure, GT and, for a limited time, First Edition.
The entry-level Allure E-308 gets tinted rear windows, 18-inch alloys, a chrome grille, a rear view camera, sat nav, and safety tech like autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
Mid-range GT models add Full Matrix LED Technology headlights with 3D LED taillights, a GT specific grille pattern, widened side sills for a more aggressive stance, Alcantara seats, ambient lighting, and front parking sensors.
Meanwhile the fully-loaded First Edition variants feature an uprated interior with swankier upholstery and embossed headrests.
Besides the Vauxhall Astra Electric, the Peugeot E-308 will also do battle with the Volkswagen ID.3 and the Renault Megane E-Tech.
You can lease the ID.3 with Select from £348 per month* while the Megane E-Tech can be leased from £314 per month*.
*Prices include VAT. Credit is Subject to Status, Ts and Cs and Arrangement Fees apply. Excess mileage may apply. Stock levels and prices correct as of 21/09/23.
