Peugeot 3008 - Latest SUV on the block

Bold new Peugeot 3008 SUV revealed, will rival Nissan Qashqai when it goes on sale in the UK in October.

Peugeot have revealed their all-new new 3008 SUV which will be going on sale up and down in the UK in October this year. The 3008 has switched its design from traditional MPV roots to a more sharp, sleek design that hopes to brush shoulders with esteemed market leaders such as the Nissan Qashqai. We will get a better look at the 3008 when it makes it debut at the 2016 edition of the Paris Motor Show in September.

Starting with the interior, the 3008 has won a lot of praise for the fresh new design Peugeot have equipped it with. While it may initially be slightly behind what its rivals are currently offering, there is no doubt that the 3008 will offer its fair share of equipment and high-tech features. Starting with Peugeot's reveal of their new i-Cockpit, which basically translates as a more tech-friendly and polished interior design that Peugeot are placing in many of their new vehicles, it culminates with a spanning centre console which is a high ease-of-access for the driver and a smaller steering wheel. The technology side of the i-Cockpit includes a 12.3-inch screen which will be able to provide useful features such as other media information & sat-nav. There is also some added comfort features such as massage seats, panoramic sunroof & a high-tech stereo should you wish to pay for the priviledge.

There's also plenty of extra safety features available including lane keep assist, auto braking, driver attention and automatic high beams among a number of other

What has changed with the 3008 exteriors design? There is large new 18-inch wheels, roof bars, a longer bonnet, body cladding and a distinctly wider grille. There is also sharp LED lights and a floating roofline which has proved very popular in the motoring press and is definitely one of the most striking exterior elements of the car. The rear is also reminiscant of some of the newer SUVs making their way onto the market such as the 2016 Ford Edge. Design has also changed significantly enough for the vehicle to have shed around 100kg in wieght.

The engines available at launch should prove strong enough for the majority of 3008 drivers. There are two diesels and two petrols on offer and a plug-in hybrid is expected to be in showrooms by 2019. This including the 1.2-litre petrol PureTech which will provide 128bhp and comes equipped with a six-speed auto or manual gearbox. The other petrol is a slightly more powerful 1.6-litre which is available only in auto and has a strong 163bhp. Onto the diesels and there is a 1.6-litre BlueHDi available in two separate outfits - a 188bhp or less powerful 99bhp. There is also a 2.0-litre BlueHDi engine which should you require could offer upto 178bhp.

As soon as lease prices are announced on the 3008 we will have them updated on our site so be sure to keep checking back.
