The new Nissan Juke Kiiro has a moody look that wouldn’t look amiss on the mean streets of Gotham - which is a good thing, as it’s a special edition being launched to mark the release of new movie The Batman.
In case you’re not a film buff, The Batman is an upcoming superhero flick directed by Cloverfield helmer Matt Reeves and which stars Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight.
And you won’t need Bruce Wayne’s billions to enjoy the Juke Kiiro, because we’re talking about some subtle style tweaks to a car that’s long been popular with lease customers working to a budget.
A Nissan spokesperson tells us:
“The film finds The Caped Crusader on a journey from vengeance toward hope. We at Nissan feel that the Nissan Juke Kiiro embodies the same sort of spirit that celebrates a journey of discovery.”
While Arnaud Charpentier, Region Vice President, Product Strategy and Pricing, Nissan AMIEO region, adds:
“Since the introduction of the first eye-catching personalisation options on the original Juke, we know how much customers appreciate the Juke’s styling, and the way its personality lends itself to playful additions. We wanted to create a special version which looks serious, with added presence and boldness - but that wasn’t sombre or boring. I’m confident the Juke Kiiro will be a great success.”
The paintwork on the Kiiro is a one off, called ‘Ceramic Grey’, and which is off-set by bright yellow finishers on the lower part of the front bumper, at the base of the doors and rear bumper.
After all, ‘Kiiro’ is Japanese for yellow.
There’s also an aluminium finisher fitted to the lip of the front valance as well as gloss black 19 inch alloys.
Inside the cabin you can expect black fabric with new black and metallic grey syntech leather inserts, with flashes of yellow stitching.
The special version will be limited to just 500 units in the UK.
Like the rest of the range, the Juke Kiiro is powered by a punchy little 1.0 litre, three cylinder petrol engine, which produces power of 114PS and 200Nm of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, while a dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifts is also available.
Meanwhile an 8 inch infotainment touch screen is standard, as is full phone connectivity.
The Batman is set to premiere in London on 4th March this year.
