This is not your typical MPV… this is the space-age new Nissan Hyper Tourer, a concept that’ll be previewed at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show.
Fully-electric, the Hyper Tourer promises a premium driving experience for those that crave the ‘finer things in life’.
The minivan will be equipped with just about everything you’d expect from a state-of-the-art EV, including autonomous driving, V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) functionality, and opulent levels of comfort.
With its smooth lines and limo-like interior, it joins the ranks of other upmarket minivans like the Maxus MIFA 9 and the long wheelbase version of the Volkswagen ID. Buzz.
A Nissan spokesperson tells us: “The sides flow diagonally from the front to the rear fender for higher aerodynamic performance and the impression of the smooth drive resulting from the combination of EV and autonomous drive. The white waistline serves as a headlight and signature lamp, while the kumiko-patterned wheels and the soft, straight body line create a premium feel beyond the concept's class.”
There’s luxurious ambient lighting throughout, including in the floor, which is said to mimic a ‘riverbed’ as well as the ‘sky’, and which helps to create a ‘relaxing space where digital and nature are fused’.
The front seats can swivel 360-degrees, allowing front and rear-seat passengers to chat - no doubt with executive business deals at the forefront of minds.
Meanwhile the Hyper Tourer can also make use of sophisticated artificial intelligence to monitor the ‘biometric signs’ of passengers - including heart rate, breathing and perspiration - to tailor the experience inside the cabin.
It can even adjust the lighting and music according to your mood!
Our Nissan spokesperson adds: “With the Nissan Hyper Tourer concept, Nissan re-envisions the road trip by combining the comfort of a luxurious living room with the convenience of a passenger van – all contained in a stylish and futuristic package.”
