The MG5 EV - one of the most affordable family electric vehicles in the UK - is enjoying a major facelift for 2022.
The MG5 EV is something of an unsung hero in the world of EVs.
With a price tag around the £30,000 mark, it’s not quite as cheap as the Fiat 500 Electric, the MINI Electric or the Nissan Leaf.
But what the MG5 EV gives you is bags of space - it’s a full-on estate with a 578 litre boot and plenty of room for adults in the rear seats.
With an electric range of up to 250 miles between charges, thanks to a 61kWh battery, it’s pretty much on a par with the Volkswagen ID.3. Using a rapid charger, you can take the battery to 80% full in just 61 minutes. And to get the most out of every charge make sure you pick your ideal charger.
And this refresh - which gives it new bumpers front and rear, redesigned headlights and new wheels - should make the MG5 EV even more appealing.

The full list of updates includes a revised interior fascia, a widescreen 10.25 inch infotainment screen, ‘i-SMART’ integration that lets you connect with your car via an app, and MG’s ‘Vehicle-To-Load’, or ‘V2L’, technology.
That V2L is actually pretty handy, and allows you to power other electric devices - such as e-bikes, portable heaters or camping equipment - using the energy stored in the MG5 EV’s battery.
For MG, the 5 EV reinforces the firm’s reputation for ‘outstanding value for money’.
Critics love the MG5 EV too.
In recent months it has been named ‘Best Value Car’ by Business Car Magazine, as well as landing the ‘Best Large Electric Car for Value’ and ‘Best Electric Estate’ trophies at the What Car? Awards.
It’s got decent punch, thanks to power of 156 PS and a 0-60mph time of 7.3 seconds.
There are plenty of driver assistance safety systems on board, too, including adaptive cruise control, collision warning, automatic braking and lane keep assist.
