The all-electric MG4 EV has won a ‘Car of the Year’ prize - despite having only actually arrived on UK roads this September.
The MG4 EV is seen by many - including us here at Select Car Leasing - as a bit of a game changer for the electric car market.
Not only is it affordable, with lease prices beginning at around £302 per month*, you also get an extremely healthy range of 218 miles on base models, or up to 281 miles with the ‘Long Range’ variant.
And now the MG4 EV has been named ‘Car of the Year’ by the DrivingElectric website.
It also scooped the trophy for ‘Best Value’.
In a poll of the site’s users, the MG4 EV was handed a third accolade in the form of the ‘Readers’ Favourite Electric Car’ gong, too.
The DrivingElectric judges called the MG4 EV ‘outstandingly capable’, adding that it has combined ‘range, practicality and loads of kit into a sharp-looking, fun-to-drive package – all at an unbeatable price’.
The awards triumph isn’t the first for the MG4 EV.
In October it was also handed a ‘Car of the Year’ title by the website WhichEV, who said it was, ‘great to drive, immensely practical, and – most importantly – sets a new benchmark for EV value’.
Elsewhere at the DrivingElectric awards, manufacturer Kia won big, with the Niro crossover winning the ‘Best Hybrid Family Car’ and ‘Best Used Hybrid Car’ silverware, the EV6 GT being named ‘Best Electric Performance Car’, and the Kia Sportage SUV picking-up the ‘Best Plug-in Hybrid Family Car’ trophy.
Sharp-suited newcomer the Ora Funky Cat (below) surprised rivals by winning the ‘Best Urban Electric Car’ award.
The ‘Technology Award’ was handed to the new Renault Megane E-Tech.
Meanwhile the ‘most anticipated’ new car for 2023 is the MG Cyberster - a two-seat roadster (below) that’s expected to be revealed in April.
