If you’re looking for a luxurious Jaguar saloon lease with an abundance of bang for your buck, these new ‘300 Sport’ versions of the XE and XF have got to be on your performance wish-list.
In case you need a recap, the XE is the entry car into Jaguar leasing, while the more expensive XF is slightly larger and offers more interior space.
And now the British firm has introduced new all-wheel-drive ‘300 Sport’ variants of both of its saloons, offering power of 300 PS and a kit list to make rivals like the BMW 3 Series, 5 Series and Audi A6 sit up and take notice.
The XE 300 Sport and the XF 300 Sport sit at the top of their respective model ranges, and offer an extra 50 PS of power compared with anything else in the line-up.
A Jaguar spokesperson reveals:
“As well as luxury and refinement the new 300 SPORT models deliver the outstanding performance and agility drivers expect from a Jaguar.”
The ‘300 Sport’ tag is definitely in vogue at Jaguar; earlier this month we brought you news of a ‘300 Sport’ edition of the F-Pace SUV, too.
Looks-wise, both the XE and XF 300 Sport get distinctive 20 inch rims and also come in two premium metallic paints - ‘Carpathian Grey’ and ‘Silicon Silver’. Both also boast cabins that are awash with aluminium finishes and ash veneers, as well as metal paddles and pedals.
The XE and XF are brimming with goodies as well. Lease customers can expect an ‘Amazon Alexa’ interface that can give you directions to the nearest petrol station while also turning the heating on in your house before you arrive home.
The Jaguar Land Rover ‘Pivi Pro’ infotainment system is standard spec, and there’s also a wireless mobile phone charging pad.
Powering the XE and XF 300 Sport is a smooth, 2.0 litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that marries 300 PS with 400Nm of torque. That results in a 0-62mph acceleration time of 5.6 seconds for the XE, and 6.1 seconds for the bigger XF. Top speed for both is a claimed 155 mph.
And yet despite all of that pace, you should still see in excess of 30 miles to the gallon.
Of course, the 300 Sport isn’t the most frugal XE or XF going. That honour goes to the 204 PS mild-hybrid diesel that’s available on more affordable options, and which provides fuel economy of up to 58.9 mpg with the XE saloon. In times where bills are going up while bank balances go down, that’s a good, solid leasing option for a whole lot of people.
And the other great news about the XE and XF 300 Sport is that the swanky saloons should also offer a cosseting ride.
A Jaguar spokesperson adds:
“All feature sophisticated double wishbone front- and Integral Link rear suspension systems, enhanced by Adaptive Dynamics: it continuously adjusts damping forces to deliver an optimum balance of comfort and agility. Configurable Dynamics enables customers to tailor steering, suspension and powertrain settings to their individual taste.”
The XE 300 Sport costs from £42,345 to buy outright, the XF 300 Sport will set you back £47,730. However, this translates to much more manageable lease prices!
