Volkswagen have revealed their new sixth-generation Polo with some design updates, bigger size, new engines and more driver assistance features. The car will officially go on sale later this year.
Since we got the news about new VW Polo, there are many industry figures saying the new Polo is bigger, better and more hi-tech than ever before. So, what’s new with the Volkswagen Polo?
1) New Polo is bigger and better than current version
Its exterior look, the new VW Polo is 81mm longer and 69mm wider than before which is claimed to improve passenger space.
2) Increased boot space
With the bigger size, the new Polo is able to offer a larger boot, with the size increasing from 280 litres to 351 litres, which will make it the largest Polo to date.
3) No 3-door optin!
There is no doubt in VW Polo’s popularity as its statis as one of he most successful models in Volkswagen's range with over than 14 million units sold to date. But to due recent falling sales of three-door version, its 5-door only!
4) New generation digital instrumental cluster
The Polo is the brand’s first model to come with a new digital instrument cluster and Active Info Display. Volkswagen are very confident saying the new systems and its graphics are easier and clearer to use than ever before. Its new infotainment system also comes with display diagonals ranging from 6.5 to 8.0 inches.
5) More hi-tech features
In addition to standard three trim lines – Trendline, Comfortline and High line. We will see a more entertaining special edition Polo Beats featuring a 300-watt sound system and sportier top model GTI in the range.
Its standard features include in the entry level version are; 14inh alloy wheels, city emergency braking system with pedestrian detection, front assist, speed limiter and much more. Its top range model includes adaptive cruise control, full LED headlights, adaptive dampers, blind spot detection and a panoramic sunroof.
6) Large range of options to choose
The new Polo will be offered in a great choice of 14 exterior colours and twelve wheel sizes and designs to choose from. There will be eleven different seat covers to make the Polo more colourful and more individual.
7) Engine range
The engine range includes 1.0 litre turbos, a 1.5 litre petrol and two 1.6 litre TDI diesels. Volkswagen will also adding more powerful and sportier top of the range a 200bhp Polo GTI producing 197bhp.

The top of the range Polo GTI gets a sporty body kit, 17-inch alloy wheels, VW’s new famed tartan seats, red brake callipers, side skirts and black roof lining with contrasting red stitching. The new Polo GTI will give fresh competition to the new Ford Fiesta ST and we'll be doing a full comparison details once we have more details on both.
9) Pricing and release date
There is no officially details about UK pricing and trim levels but expected to rise by around £500 over the current model.
