Isuzu D-Max named ‘Pick-up of the Year’

Here’s another award for the all-conquering Isuzu D-Max - this time a ‘Pick-up of the Year 2023’ gong from Company Car & Van magazine.

The D-Max is, of course, a huge rival to the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux and SsangYong Musso.

It’s available in a number of different guises, running from the ultra-affordable single cab, rear-wheel drive D-Max, to the absolutely-go-anywhere D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35.

It’s also not short of admirers, having already been named ‘2023 Pick-up of the Year’ by What Van? And ‘2023 Pick-up of the Year’ by 4x4 Magazine.

Now Company Car & Van mag has followed suit, awarding the D-Max its highest pick-up prize - for the second year in a row.

Andrew Walker, Editor and Publisher of Company Car & Van said: “The Isuzu D-Max is our pick-up of the year and for good reason.

“It features class-leading safety, on-trend tech, a comfortable passenger experience and it does what a pick-up is supposed to do. Furthermore, it's available in a myriad of conversions that's hard to beat and in a range of single, extended and double cab models to suit all customer needs.”

William Brown, Managing Director, Isuzu UK commented on receiving the award, adding: “We are thrilled to be kicking off 2023 by accepting this award for the second year in a row.

“The experts at Company Car & Van have recognised not only the Isuzu D-Max’s wide and continuously growing customer base but also the industry-leading safety features which are standard across the Isuzu pick-up range. Thanks to the variety of specifications, from the Utility workhorse to the premium V-Cross, our vehicles appeal to both the commercial and passenger markets.”

One of the key D-Max models in the range is the ‘DL20’, which tries to out-do SUVs when it comes to creature comforts, teasing new lease customers in the pick-up market.

It features 18 inch alloys, dual-zone climate control, a leather interior, reversing camera, and a 7-inch multimedia system that includes Apple CarPlay & Android Auto compatibility.

Meanwhile, elsewhere at the Company Car & Van awards, there was a notable win for the Renault Kangoo E-Tech, as it was named ‘Small Electric Van of the Year’.

The Citroen C5 X was named ‘Large Car of the Year’, while the Hyundai Ioniq 5 was recognised as ‘Large Electric Car of the Year’.
