Hyundai has revealed the first pics of a new fully-electric compact crossover called the ‘Inster’ - and it’s heading to Europe.
The Korean firm says the Inster will be a ‘sub-compact EV’ - ie, a small city car - with an expected range of up to 221 miles on a single charge.
The Inster will make its official debut at the Busan International Mobility Show in South Korea later this month.
But we can already see from these teaser snaps that the Inster is sporting some eye-catching LED daytime running lights as well as chunky, rugged styling, complete with practical roof bars.
A Hyundai spokesperson says: “The images reveal a robust yet compact SUV profile with signature LED daytime running lights, plus pixel-graphic turn signals and tail lamps that define the new sub-compact EV’s design.”
We’ve already got a VERY good idea about what the Inster will look like in the flesh. That’s because Hyundai says its new EV is an ‘evolution’ of a petrol-powered car called the ‘Casper’ (below) which has been on sale in Korea since 2021.
It’s a good looking car that reminds us of the capable Suzuki Ignis.
And when the Inster does arrive on UK shores it’ll compete with a host of new compact, cut-price EVs, including the Dacia Spring and the Citroen e-C3.
A Hyundai spokesperson adds: “Inster will set new standards in terms of driving range, technology, and safety features, redefining what buyers can expect from a vehicle in this class.”
