Good news if you’re in the market for a classy new crossover, because the revamped Hyundai Bayon is now available to order!
The Bayon might have slipped under your radar up until now, but it’s an importat one to consider if you’re already looking at cars like the Volkswagen T-Cross, Ford Puma and Skoda Kamiq.
The Bayon - which is slightly smaller than the Hyundai Kona - has been facelifted to give it an impressive, shark-like nose with an illuminated light strip running across the bonnet.
The front bumper has also been redesigned to give the Bayon a more ‘robust’ yet also futuristic appearance.
You’re not spoiled for choice when it comes to engine options, as there’s just one.
It’s a 1.0 turbocharged ‘T-GDi’ petrol unit with a maximum power output of 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque and which can be mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox or 6-speed manual.
You can expect fuel economy of around 51 miles to the gallon while a 411-litre boot is on a par with what you get with the Ford Puma.
There are three decently-specced trim levels to choose from - Advance, Premium and Ultimate.
The entry-level Advance grade - priced from £22,480 to buy outright and which can be leased with Select from £285 per month* - brings you 16-inch alloys, LED lights, a rear-view camera, parking sensors, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with sat nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and ambient lighting.
The mid-range Premium models add extras like larger 17-inch rims, automatic wipers, USB C ports in the rear, privacy glass, heated seats and a heated steering wheel. You also get the option of a two tone black roof.
Meanwhile the range-topping Premium trim boasts a BOSE sound system, wireless phone charging, Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW), smart key with engine start button, and a glass sunroof with electric tilt and slide.
Standard-fit safety tech across the range, no matter which version you lease, includes lane keep assist and forward collision avoidance assist.
All in all, it’s a tempting package that should prove affordable for lots of customers.
