If it’s good enough for Max Verstappen…
The Dutch racing driver might have endured a frustrating British Grand Prix, finishing seventh after sustaining damage to his car in the first half of the race.
But the Formula One star has still found time to give the thumbs up to this - a new ‘Limited Edition’ variant of the all-electric Honda e.
The Honda e hatchback was first launched in 2020, when it was billed as the Japanese firm’s first ever ‘mass produced’ fully-electric car.
Designed for the urban environment, the ‘e’ boasts a relatively small 35.5 kWh battery that brings a range of up to 137 miles between charges. That’s similar to the 147 miles you get with a Mazda MX-30 but falls short of cars like the new Kia Niro EV.
There’s power of 154 PS, a 0-60mph sprint time of just 8.3 seconds and with perfect 50:50 weight distribution Honda says the e is capable of some sporty driving.
Those basic ingredients remain in place with this new Limited Edition model.
What’s different here is that there’s a host of exterior style flourishes to mark it out as unique.
There’s ‘Premium Crystal Red’ paint with contrasting black accents as well as 17 inch black alloys to boost the car’s ‘stand-out individuality’.
Meanwhile the Honda e Limited Edition has also had the seal of approval from Red Bull Racing’s Verstappen.
He took one for a spin around Dozza, Italy - a mediaeval city near Bologna renowned for its eclectic street art.
And he said:
“The Honda e Limited Edition is simply lovely. It has funky looks, a compact design and is fun to drive. It’s a great electric urban vehicle.”
So, what can you expect from a Honda e lease, whether you go for this bright red model or not?
Firstly, there’s fast charging at speeds up to 50 kW, which will add 80% charge to the battery in just 31 minutes.
There’s also a ton of kit fitted as standard, including on base models. That includes a set of full-width dual screens in the sensational interior, a sun roof, heated front seats, and Honda’s funky side camera ‘mirror’ system.
The suite of driver assistance and safety systems includes adaptive cruise control, a collision mitigation braking system, lane keep assist and ‘Low Speed Following’ tech.
Honda e ‘Advance’ models, meanwhile, add extras like a centre camera to replace the rear view mirror as well as the firm’s ‘Parking Pilot’ tech, which uses sophisticated sensors to park your car for you.
You can lease a Honda e with Select Car Leasing for around £428 per month*
