For driving enthusiasts, there's nothing better than getting out onto the open road on a nice summer's day, with the windows down and the wind in your hair. Unfortunately, due to Brexit, it might become a lot harder to do this in Europe in the foreseeable future. So we've come up with a guide to some of the best European Road Trips if you want to check them off your bucket list.
First we take a trip to the Franch Alps where you'll find the twisty and slightly dangerous Col de Turini, which is full of tight hairpin turns. It's perfect if you're a confident, experienced driver looking for a thrill ride.
Next, we're off to the Stelvio Pass, also located in the Alps but this time in Italy, where you'll find another tight and treacherous route that's the highest paved mountain pass in the Eastern Alps.
We then take you to a different continent, a visit the Trollstigen in Norway. Yes, it's not in the EU but we thought, what the hell, this route is simply too dramatic to miss out.
Our last stop is the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse in Germany. Try saying that three times quickly without messing up. This is a completely different route to the afore mentioned as this isn't up a mountain. This route goes through the Black Forest and is an easier, more relaxed drive for those looking for an enjoyable ride rather than a thrill ride.
The piece also provides you with the best hotels to stay in whilst visiting these epic roads, including one that's only a two-minute walk from the route itself. We've also added in some interesting sights for you to take in if you fancy stopping off somewhere along the way, as well as the perfect car to use on these roads if you want the ultimate driving experience.
Finally, it's important to make sure you have all the necessary documentation before setting off on your road trip, but don't worry, we've got that covered too.
So what are you waiting for? Take a look and start planning that perfect road trip!
