You’re looking at the ‘fastest-accelerating production Skoda ever’, according to the Czech firm - the revised, fully-electric Skoda Enyaq vRS.
The Enyaq vRS is the performance version of the regular Skoda Enyaq.
Launched at the back end of 2022, it’s available as both a Coupe and regular SUV and, up until now, boasted power of 299 PS and a 6.5-second 0-62mph acceleration time.
Now, however, the Enyaq vRS has been handed more oomph.
Power is up by 41 PS to 340 PS - what Skoda says is ‘the highest output figure ever for a production Skoda model’.
The range, for the sleek Coupe at least, has gone up by 16 miles to a max of 340 miles, while you now get even faster charging at 175 kW.
All in all, Skoda says it has shaved a full second from the Enyaq vRS’s 0-62mph acceleration time, getting it down to just 5.5 seconds.
Skoda proudly boasts that the Enyaq vRS ‘becomes the fastest accelerating production Skoda ever’.
But… is it really?
There’s another wolf in sheep’s clothing lurking in the Skoda line-up - and that’s the Superb.
It might not look like it’d worry a Porsche Taycan, but it will if you lease the 4x4 Superb with the ‘280’ engine. The Superb 280 (below) will throttle from 0-62mph in just 5.3 seconds.
And, unless we’re mistaken, that’s more rapid than the revised Enyaq vRS’s 5.5-second time.
Either way, and fractions of a second aside, the all-wheel drive Enyaq vRS is no slouch.
Meanwhile Skoda is also boosting the equipment on offer with its electric flagship. You can now enjoy everything from travel assist and speed assist, to walk away locking, rear side airbags, rear window blinds, rear USB-C charging ports, and tow bar prep.
The infotainment system and digital cockpit have also been redesigned to be clearer and more intuitive to use.
Order books for the 2024 Skoda Enyaq vRS are due to open before the end of the month.
You can lease the Skoda Enyaq vRS with Select from £551 per month*.
The powerful Skoda Superb 280, meanwhile, can be leased from £576 per month*.
