Dacia Jogger set for wild challenge

Dacia has roped-in a group of hardy explorers to show-off just how versatile its Jogger SUV really is.

We’re a big fan of the Dacia Jogger here at Select HQ.

It’s not just a good-looking seven-seater with an enormous 478 litre boot, it’s also super-affordable as a lease car, with prices beginning at £232 per month*.

And now Dacia is putting the Jogger - and three celeb adventurers - through their paces as part of a series of summer challenges.

The outdoorsy types are Akke Rahman, James Forrest and Adell Baker.

In October 2020 Rahman broke the UK record for climbing Mount Elbrus, southern Russia, reaching the summit in less than 24 hours, and in May of last year he became the first British Muslim to climb Mount Everest.

James Forrest earned the nickname ‘Mountain Man’ after climbing ALL 1,001 peaks in the UK and Ireland in the fastest known time - an escapade that spanned 2017 to 2019.

Meanwhile Adell Baker is a top travel blogger who quit the rat race to pursue her passion for being in the UK’s wildest places.

The trio will now use the Jogger to complete a series of challenges - from raft building and campfire cooking, to setting up tents while blindfolded.

The online ‘Good Thinking’ tests will be fronted by Channel 4 host and outdoor swimming enthusiast Alice Levine. She says: “They are all pro adventurers, but it would be no fun for them to breeze it, so we’ve thrown in some surprises to keep them on their toes… it’s a wild tiger. The surprise is a hungry, aggravated wild tiger. Just joking. Or am I? There’s no doubt they are going to have to think outside the box!”

The Dacia Jogger, meanwhile, is just as accomplished as any of the globe-trotting adventurers. It was recently named ‘Best Family Car’ by Autocar, and is also available with a frugal self-charging powertrain.

The styling is bang on, being somewhere between SUV and estate.

And even entry-level models come loaded with tinted windows, an emergency braking system, and rear parking sensors… so you don’t accidentally reverse into a deer when out in the wilds of Scotland!
