Check out the new Cupra Raval - a rebellious electric hot hatch that’s accelerating straight towards Gen Z, according to the manufacturer.
In case you’re not down with the kids, the term ‘Generation Z’, or ‘the Zoomers’, refers to those people born between the late Nineties and the end of the Noughties.
These are, apparently, savvy, digital, fully-connected citizens who are plugged-in to the zeitgeist and have minds more open than ever before.
So who better to pitch an ultra-modern electric car to?
In truth, the Raval will appear to more people than just Zoomers. We got excited for the Raval last year when it was first revealed as a concept, then known as ‘UrbanRebel’.
Back then we learned that the Raval would boast power of around 226 PS and be capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 6.9 seconds.
Weighing-in at about the same size as a Volkswagen Polo or Ford Fiesta, the Raval should also get a very decent range between charges of around 273 miles.
To put that figure into perspective, the entry-level Cupra Born can cover up to 263 miles between charges, but has less power.
Spanish manufacturer Cupra says the Raval has been named after a vibrant district of Barcelona.
Wayne Griffiths, Cupra CEO, says: “The Raval is one of the most surprising parts of Barcelona. And today, we are proud that the brand’s future urban electric car will have its name and represent its spirit. Just as we did with the Cupra Born, we now want to express the essence of the Raval and continue to inspire the world from Barcelona.”
The Raval will be produced from 2025 onwards, so you’ve got a little while yet until you can actually lease one.
Griffiths adds: “The Cupra Raval is not just another car. It is an invitation to a new generation, which expects something better. An urban, rebellious and 100% electric car, with its own character and linked to 'Gen Z’. Something that’s more emotional.”
While you wait for the Raval, you can lease the brilliant Cupra Born (above), which has bags of personality and makes for a more streetwise leasing alternative to the Volkswagen ID.3.
Leasing prices for the Cupra Born with Select Car Leasing begin at £375 per month*.
*Prices include VAT. Credit is Subject to Status, Ts and Cs and Arrangement Fees apply. Excess mileage may apply. Stock levels and prices correct as of 12/05/23.
