BMW have announced the latest upgrades to their 1 Series range including styling tweaks, upgraded infotainment system and range expansion with three new special edition models going on sale in July 2017.
BMWs 1 Series is one of the most premium models in the entire hatchback range; available in both three & five door variants. Since its launch, BMW claims that around one million units of the 1 Series hatch have been sold worldwide between 2011 to 2017 with Germany, Great Britain and China the leading markets.
External feature upgrades are minor on this facelifted model and are limited to three special edition variants the Sport Line Shadow, M Sport Shadow and the M140i Shadow.
New Shadow special edition models get LED headlights with black contouring, black kidney grille and darkened rear lights along with five new alloy wheel variants. The new 1 Series shadow lines are a highlight and go to launch with exciting new colours - Sunset orange and seaside blue.
Inside, the 1 Series gets a revamped interior with new technology and iDrive touchscreen with a range of petrol and diesel engines continue to drive the rear wheels with the xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive available as an option on select models.
The M Sport Shadow models gets black 18 inch wheels with black exhaust pipes whereas the M140i Edition Shadow comes with 18-inch grey alloy wheels. The all new Shadow edition models can be ordered with five new wheel options and two new exclusive colours.
Like the 1 Series, the 2 Series will also receive interior tweaks including a new instrument panel adding to a more roomy and spacious cabin. Both the 1 Series and 2 Series can be specified with the high resolution 8.8-inch touchscreen seen on the 5 Series.
The new changes will be available in three door/five-door 1 Series while the 2 Series comes in a coupe or a convertible. Order books will open in July.
