BMW has been named ‘Fleet Manufacturer of the Year’ at the Business Car Awards 2023 - scooping five category wins.
BMW X1, 3 Series, i4 and 5 Series led the way in their respective classes.
Meanwhile the German manufacturer picked up the overall ‘Fleet Manufacturer of the Year’ title for the second consecutive year running.
The all-electric BMW i4 has already won a clutch of industry awards this year - including the ‘Premium Electric Car of the Year 2023’ gong from Auto Express - and here it was awarded the Business Car prize for ‘Best Electric Car over £40,000’.

The i4 has a range of up to 365 miles between charges and can be leased with Select from £522 per month*.
Judges said that ‘despite the choice of models in this class growing massively over the last year’ they felt that ‘none of them could match the i4’s reliable electric range, driver appeal and practical hatchback design’.
The BMW X1 is also available as the fully-electric iX1, which has a range of up to 296 miles on a single charge.
Meanwhile the regular BMW X1 - which you can lease with Select from just £420 per month* - is also up for grabs as a frugal plug-in hybrid.
The Business Car judges said: “The latest X1 impresses with its extra practicality, its performance, plus the electric range for EV and plug-in hybrid models. On top of the added space, all X1’s are well-equipped and good to drive.”
And, of course, the long-running BMW 3 Series and 5 Series are also available as plug-in hybrids, a fact that’ll help to reduce an employee’s Benefit in Kind (BIK) company car tax burden.

Elsewhere at the Business Car Awards, the electric MG4 was named ‘Best Electric car, Under £40,000’ while the incoming electric Ford Explorer was highlighted as ‘One to Watch’ in the coming months.
The Ford Explorer (below) is tipped to arrive in the summer of next year.
