The car industry begins a tentative recovery from the Coronavirus pandemic, as new car sales in June bucked the trend of a dismal second quarter and increased by more than 50% on the prior month. The industry is showing encouraging signs of life as consumer confidence returns alongside the reopening of major manufacturing plants and dealerships in the UK.
In conjunction with the industry getting back on its feet, we’ve been working closely with our partners over the last few weeks and are delighted to have started gradually rolling out safe delivery of new cars to our customers. You can read more about our safe delivery procedures on our dedicated page about what we’re doing to protect the safety of our customers and staff.
Now is a great time to get behind the wheel of a brand-new lease car. A recent survey published in Car Dealer Magazine found that many Brits will actively ‘avoid public transport’ due to concerns about safety and a lack of guarantees on social distancing. As workers begin to trickle through the door of offices and factories up and down the country, this major move away from public transport is expected to result in a surge in interest of private cars.
