Aston Martin Valhalla - full specs revealed!

  • Aston Martin Valhalla revealed in full
  • Mid-engined hybrid supercar with design cues from Aston Martin Valkyrie
  • Powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain develops 1,079 PS
  • Priced from £850,000 and limited to 999 units

This is no ordinary plug-in hybrid - this is the Aston Martin Valhalla, and it’s revealed in full here ahead of customer deliveries beginning next year.

The Valhalla has been in development for what seems like an age, having first been teased as a concept by the British firm back in 2019.

But here it is in full road-legal production mode - and guaranteed to turn heads for a host of reasons.

Let’s talk about the powertrain first.

A 4.0-litre twin-turbo flat-plane crank V8 engine – the highest performing V8 engine ever fitted to an Aston Martin - is supported by three E-motors and a small 6 kWh battery.

Two electric motors drive the front axle while the V8, and a third E-motor built into the 8-speed DCT transmission, drive the rear wheels. The Valhalla also gets an electronic rear differential (E-diff).

That all combines to create power of 1079 PS, a gargantuan 1,100 Nm of torque, and a 0-62 mph time of just 2.5 seconds. To put that acceleration figure into perspective, it’s precisely the same as the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, which is also a plug-in hybrid underpinned by a 4.0-litre V8 engine.

Top speed for the Valhalla is electronically limited at 217 mph. You also get a pure EV mode with a small range of around 8.6 miles and a top speed of 80 mph.

There’s a whole heap of clever active aerodynamics going on with tech borrowed from F1 and which can generate 600 kg of downforce when travelling at around 149 mph. You also get a drag reduction system (DRS) when you really want to hammer your right foot to the floor.

An Aston Martin spokesperson tells us: “Valhalla employs an integrated system of Active Aerodynamics which combines moveable aerodynamic surfaces with precise management of underbody airflow. This enables Valhalla to adapt front and rear downforce to maximise grip, balance and consistency, or reduce drag depending on the situation and the driving mode selected. This enables drivers to extract the very best from Valhalla’s chassis and tyres, across the full performance range of the car.”

The rear wing only deploys in ‘Race’ mode and is otherwise stowed to ‘preserve Valhalla’s sleek and elegant profile’, says Aston Martin.

A carbon fibre tub gives maximum stiffness and minimum heft and the Valhalla weighs 1,655 kg, which makes it leaner than a Lamborghini Revuelto but heavier than the McLaren W1.

There are carbon ceramic brakes front and rear as well as sophisticated brake-by-wire technology that’s ‘engineered for the rigors of track use and finessed for the nuanced demands of road driving’, according to Aston Martin.

Design wise, the Valhalla is something of a show-stopper, with dihedral doors and highly distinctive, top-mounted twin exhaust pipes poking out from the rear. There are another two exhaust pipes right at the back, too, flanking the underbody venturi tunnels.

An F1-inspired ‘roof snorkel’ scoop directs air to where the Valhalla needs it, including to the intercoolers and engine bay.

The cabin boasts one-piece carbon fibre seats, an F1-shaped steering wheel, and a carbon brace running the width of the interior.

How much is the Aston Martin Valhalla? Prices begin at £850,000 before you even start to customise it and production is strictly limited to 999 units. Customer deliveries are scheduled for the second half of 2025.

As a first time customer to lease a car I have been extremely impressed with the whole experience. The staff at Select Leasing are excellent. They are so helpful and knowledgeable and kept me updated and informed all through the process. I would certainly recommend them if you are considering going down the route of 'leasing' your next vehicle.
