Motorists have been matched to their perfect DOG, according to AI.
Britain is a nation of pooch lovers, with an estimated 11 million pet dogs in the UK and a third of households being home to a four-legged friend.
Here at Select, we asked ChatGPT - an artificial intelligence chatbot - to work out which dogs are best suited to the drivers of different types of cars.
And the results are sure to make your ears prick up.
Those behind the wheel of a sporty Honda Civic Type R hot hatch would enjoy an ‘energetic and athletic’ dog like a Dalmatian.
Fiat 500 lovers could ride shotgun with an ‘adorable’ French Bulldog, a canine that’s ‘a popular choice among city dwellers’, says ChatGPT.
Meanwhile an ‘elegant’ and ‘regal’ Afghan Hound wouldn’t look out of place in the rear of a luxurious Land Rover Range Rover.
Graham Conway, Managing Director at Select Car Leasing, says:
“You often see lists looking at which cars are the best for dog lovers, but we wanted to turn that on its head by finding out which DOGS are best-suited to car enthusiasts. Of course, this is just a fun thought experiment. As ChatGPT also points out, the type of dog that a motorist will love all depends on their individual preferences and lifestyle, so you should take this AI advice with a pinch of salt!”
Select Car Leasing also points out that all dogs should be suitably restrained when riding in a car, making sure they don’t cause a distraction or injury - to either themselves or to you - if you have to stop in a hurry.
Here’s what ChatGPT came up with - and all of us in the news team here at Select Car Leasing are again keen to reiterate that you should seek expert advice when deciding if dog ownership is suited to your lifestyle:
