Polestar finally has a new car - an SUV that's going straight after the German premium brands - but can it really put up much of a fight?
The Polestar 3 is a premium, all-electric vehicle created to ‘bring the sport back to the SUV’, according to the Swedish-Chinese manufacturer.

The ultra-aerodynamic Polestar 3 has power of up to 519 PS with the ‘Performance’ variant, while the Long Range dual motor model is able to travel up to 392 miles between charges.
A rear-wheel drive Long Range single motor Polestar 3 was added to the line-up in 2024 and boasts an extended range of up to 438 miles and the same luxury features, technology and design as rest of Polestar 3 line-up.
Ultra-fast 250 kW charging will take the Polestar 3’s large 111 kWh battery from 10-80% in under half an hour.
Meanwhile the Polestar 3 offers exceedingly-potent pace, sprinting from 0-62mph in a sub five-second time.
The Polestar 3 offers sophisticated autonomous highway driving capabilities, using state-of-the-art LiDAR sensors from world-famous Californian software company NVIDIA.
And because of Polestar’s commitment to eye-catching, minimalist and sustainably-built interiors, the cabin of the 3 is every bit as enticing as vehicles built by the leaders in the marketplace.
Polestar says the 3 is a ‘major milestone for our company, one that boosts our growth trajectory and takes us into our next phase’.
And the zero-emission Polestar 3 could also take you into an extremely welcome tax bracket if you’re a company car lease customer, attracting a low Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax rate.
The 3 SUV slots into the Polestar range between the Polestar 2 fastback and the upcoming Polestar 4 coupe-SUV.
