Mazda CX-60 Reviews
Mazda targets its premium rivals with the big and bold plug-in CX-60 SUV and (mostly) gets away with it.
The CX-60 SUV doesn’t just represent Mazda’s first plug-in hybrid, it’s released as the firm’s most powerful road-going vehicle to date.
And with an impressive capacity to coast for 39 miles using electricity alone, coupled with serious performance, the CX-60 is as practical as it is potent.

The CX-60 sits alongside more traditionally powered CX-30 and CX-5 SUVs in the Mazda range and counts rivals like the Ford Kuga, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Volvo XC60 Recharge as key competitors.
At the heart of the CX-60 is the Mazda ‘e-Skyactiv PHEV’ powertrain, which utilises a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, a 100 kW electric motor and a 17.8 kWh battery. Not sure how that translates? Take a look at our guide explaining what kWh and kW really means.
Power is a considerable 327 PS while max torque reaches 500 Nm, enabling the CX-60 to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 5.8 seconds.
For lease customers who don’t want the PHEV powertrain, the Mazda CX-60 will also be available with a mild-hybrid straight-six 3.0-litre e-Skyactiv X petrol or a mild-hybrid 3.3-litre Skyactiv-D diesel unit.
With the PHEV, fuel consumption is an extremely healthy 188mpg while CO2 emissions are just 33g/km.
There are three trim grades - Exclusive-Line, Homura and Takumi.
The mid-range Homura gets body coloured wheel arch mouldings and a dark plated signature wing grille surround, plus gloss black mirrors, 20 inch black alloys and honeycomb grille. There’s also heated seats in the rear, ambient lighting and a head-up display.
The top-spec Takumi improves things with extra chrome and a gloss black radiator grille.
Meanwhile new Mazda technologies are also being debuted with the CX-60, including a next-generation 360-degree monitor, new Hill Descent Control (HDC) for optimum traction, and intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (i-ACC).
