This is Lexus’s second bash at the NX – a midsize family SUV everyone had high hopes for. But the first one wasn’t all that. It had a sluggish transmission, mundane handling, and the infotainment system was like operating a laptop while driving.

On first impressions, a lot has changed. The first model didn’t age well, with the exterior and interior both already looking dated. But if the outgoing one became old-fashioned quickly, this new NX looks like it’s landed from an alien world ten years into the future.

Jim was easy to work with and I got the vehicle I requested. Hand over was easy and the delivery driver spent time explaining all the cars functions. Communication was good throughout the process.

Voytek Kowalczyk in particular made this process really painless. I had quotes put out in the market to over a dozen brokers (for this company car lease). There was only one quote that came in cheaper than Select but it came eight days too late (after I signed the Select papers off). On detailed examination it turned out to be £97 cheaper over three years instead of the £535 that appeared initially. This is because even if their monthly charge was £15 cheaper, the initial payment was £428 higher - assuming zero interest acrual on the £428. Voytek is a great communicator and, though clearly busy, keep me posted on the progress. The experience so far has been great. Will return to this review when I renew in three years, to state how that has been.
